The Music of John Nelson

Welcome to my music page. I began writing music back in the mid 70's. In 1977 fellow musician and best friend Steve Barkoczy and I formed the band, Skatiki. This musical fusion would last for the next 10 years. During that time we wrote over 50 songs, recorded 5 albums and had the privlage of jamming with some of Jersey's finest musicians. This was a special time for me, so I thought I would share some of the music with you. I've been playing around with MIDI so I decided to put some of my music to MIDI just to hear how it would sound. In making these, I did try to keep it as close to the original recordings the best I could. If you want to hear some original recordings, I do have a few MP3's on here as well. I still do some composing today, when inspired, so there's a mix of old and newer tunes on here for you to listen to. I hope you're visit here is enjoyable. Thanks for stopping by. :)
